I wrote a post for Christ and Culture, the blog site for the L. Russ Bush Center for Faith and Culture. It begins as follows:
“Regardless of how deeply a Christian might or might not feel invested in the political process, Scripture is very clear that the upcoming election should, at least, be a matter of prayer for every believer. The apostle Paul commands Christians to pray for those in leadership when he writes,
- “First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good, and it pleases God our Savior.” (1 Timothy 2:1-3)
So how should we pray?“
